Never before in Europe have so many rays been presented in a single aquarium. Their gentle ballet is an invitation to dream and contemplate. Four species are represented.

A MAJOR PROJECT

The aquarium building and filtration room took 12 months to build. The tank is imposing in size: 16 m long and wide, 3.50 m high. A major milestone was the installation of the aquarium’s methacrylate glass. Built in Japan, its dimensions are impressive: 20 cm thick, 14 m long, 3.30 m high and weighing 11 tons, three Japanese technicians spent a week in Le Croisic to make the watertight joints.
