Apogon

You often come across this representative of what is essentially a tropical family, in the shallow underwater caves of the Mediterranean. The way Apogons breed is unusual: the male retrieves the eggs that have been laid and incubates them in his mouth – but he doesn’t eat anything until after they have hatched!
